ABOUT ME
My name is Valerie Cheng
I am a professional circus artist, stunt performer and aerial rigger located in Toronto, Ontario. I am an ACTRA Apprentice Member, and went to George Brown College for Video Design & Productions.
I have been teaching and performing circus for over 10 years. I specialise in Aerial Hoop, lollipop lyra, mobi hoop, and tippy hoop. I have been hired to perform for a variety of different events, festivals, and companies all over Ontario. I was trained by Oleg Kantemirov and Tatiana Zoubrilina at the Wonderful World of Circus, where they were performers of the Moscow State Circus and Cirque du Soleil.

In 2019, I competed in the nationwide competition in Laval, Montreal, for the Canadian Pole Sports Federation under the Aerial Hoop Professional Senior Woman Level and placed first.

I am also a filmmaker and photographer. I am one of the co-founders of BlackWolf Artistry, which is a multi-disciplinary arts company specialising in storytelling through video and photography. At 6 years old, I began my passion for the arts and over the years gained experience working with all types of mediums professionally such as Film/TV (“Cruel Intention” Season 1 - Stunt Performer) - Prime Video, (Canada’s Got Talent” Elimination Season 4 - (Assistant Aerial Rigger) - CityTv (“Alter Boy” Feature Film)- Netflix, (“Bad Egg Music Video “ and Achilles Heel Music Video”- Zoe Starra) Cinematographer & Producer, (“The Enchanted Forest” Hercinia Arts Collective)- Circus Arts, (“Civitas” - Wonderful World of Circus) - Directed, & Visual Artist. Valerie strives to combine multiple art forms to create pieces of work that audiences can connect to and share a passion in.
